The Problem

When a Work Computer Goes Down, the Clock Is Money

A broken computer at a business is not the same problem as a broken computer at home. When the machine that runs your scheduling software won’t boot on a Monday morning, or the workstation holding your accounting files starts making a clicking noise, you are not just inconvenienced — you have staff standing around, customers waiting, and work piling up. That is the situation HenkTek exists to end quickly.

We have been handling computer repair in Fort Myers since 2010, and in that time the technology has changed completely while the actual job has not: figure out what really broke, tell the owner the truth about it, fix it properly, and get the business running again. We work on desktops, laptops, all-in-ones, and servers, on both Windows and Mac. Hardware failures, software problems, malware, failing drives, machines that have simply gotten unbearably slow — those are our normal week.

One important thing to know up front: HenkTek works with businesses, not home users. We are not a walk-in phone-screen shop, and we don’t take in family laptops. Everything we do is built around commercial clients — offices, practices, contractors, and small companies around Southwest Florida — because business repair has different priorities. Your data has to stay confidential, your downtime has an hourly cost, and the fix has to hold.

What We Fix

Common Repairs We Handle Every Week

If it plugs in and your business depends on it, start with a phone call. These are the calls we get most.

Won’t Power On or Won’t Boot

Dead machines, blank screens, blue screens, boot loops, and Windows that stops loading. We work out whether it’s a power supply, a drive, memory, the board, or corrupted software before anyone spends money on parts.

🐢

Slow Computers & PC Tune-Ups

Machines that take five minutes to open a program are quietly costing you payroll every day. Often the cause is a failing drive, low memory, overheating, or software that shouldn’t be running — not an old computer that needs replacing.

💾

Hard Drive & SSD Failure

Clicking drives, disappearing files, and drives Windows no longer sees. We stop making things worse first, then assess what can be pulled off and get you onto healthy storage. See also our backup and recovery service.

Virus, Malware & Ransomware

Pop-ups, hijacked browsers, fake “tech support” warnings, encrypted files, and email accounts sending spam on your behalf. We clean the machine, then look at how it got in so it doesn’t happen again — that’s the cybersecurity side of the job.

💻

Laptop Repair

Cracked screens, dead keyboards, worn-out batteries, broken charging ports, hinges, and laptops running so hot they shut themselves down. Business laptops take a beating in Florida heat and in the back of a truck.

🖥

Servers & Office Networks

Servers that won’t come back after a storm or a power blip, shared folders nobody can reach, printers that vanish, and Wi-Fi that drops at the worst moment. Related: wireless networking.

How Service Works

Three Ways We Get to Your Computer

📡

Remote Support

The fastest option, and it solves a lot of what comes in. Software problems, settings, email, updates, and most “it’s acting strange” issues can be handled over a secure remote session without anyone driving anywhere.

🚗

On-Site at Your Office

For hardware, servers, networking, and anything involving cables or multiple machines, we come to you. On-site work covers Fort Myers, North Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres, Bonita Springs and Naples.

🔨

Bench Work, By Appointment

Some repairs are better done at our Fort Myers office on Center Road. We are appointment only — there is no walk-in counter — so call or email first and we’ll set a time to receive the equipment.

Straight Answer

What We Don’t Do

Knowing where a shop stops is as useful as knowing where it starts.

We don’t repair cell phones, tablets, or game consoles, and we don’t take on residential or home-user repairs — if you need a personal laptop looked at, one of the consumer shops in town is a better fit than us. We also won’t recommend a replacement machine you don’t need in order to make a bigger sale. When a repair genuinely costs more than the computer is worth, we will say so plainly and help you spec something sensible instead. And you get a price before we start work, not a surprise on the invoice.

The Process

From Broken to Back to Work

1

Tell Us What Happened

Call (239) 234-2334 and describe what the machine is doing. We respond the same business day.

2

We Diagnose It

Remotely when we can, on-site or on the bench when we can’t. The goal is the real cause, not a guess — guessing is what turns a one-hour job into three.

3

You Approve the Work

You hear what’s wrong in plain English, what it takes to fix, and what it costs. Nothing goes ahead until you say go.

4

Fixed — and Less Likely to Recur

We complete the repair, make sure it holds, and point out anything that’s going to bite you next: a drive with no backup, an out-of-warranty server, an unprotected workstation.

Coverage

Where We Work

HenkTek is based in Fort Myers and serves businesses throughout Lee and Collier counties. Our office at 602 Center Rd puts us a short drive from most of the commercial corridor, and on-site calls regularly take us out to Cape Coral, North Fort Myers, Lehigh Acres, Bonita Springs, Estero, and Naples. If you are just outside that footprint, ask — a lot of what businesses need can be handled remotely regardless of distance.

Repair is often how clients meet us, but it is rarely where the relationship ends. Companies that get tired of fixing the same problems repeatedly usually move to managed IT services, where we monitor the equipment around the clock for a flat monthly fee and catch failures before they turn into a lost morning. Either way is fine with us — there is no contract required to get a computer fixed.

FAQ

Computer Repair Questions We Get Asked

How fast can you fix my computer?

We respond the same business day. Many software and configuration problems get resolved during that first remote session. Hardware repairs depend on what part is needed — when we have it on hand, same-day or next-day is normal; if something has to be ordered, we tell you the timeline up front rather than leaving your machine sitting on a bench for a week.

What does computer repair cost in Fort Myers?

It depends on whether the work is remote, on-site, or on the bench, and on what actually failed — which is why we diagnose before quoting rather than reading a number off a chart. You get the price before the work starts and it doesn’t change without your say-so. One-time repairs are billed hourly. Businesses on a managed plan pay a flat monthly fee instead, with no per-incident bills. Call (239) 234-2334 and describe the problem and we’ll tell you where it lands.

Who do you work with?

HenkTek works with small businesses. That focus is deliberate — commercial clients need confidentiality, faster turnaround, and repairs that account for the rest of their network, and that is a different job from consumer repair.

Do you come to my office, or do I bring it in?

Both, depending on the repair. Anything involving servers, cabling, networking, or several machines at once is better done on-site, and we cover Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Naples and the surrounding area. Individual machines can come to our Center Road office — but we are appointment only, so please arrange a time first.

Can you help after hours or on the weekend?

Yes. After-hours and weekend work is treated as an emergency call and billed at a higher rate. For a business that cannot open Monday without a working system, that is usually money well spent — and if you’d rather not be in that position, monitoring under a managed plan exists to prevent it.

Can you get data off a drive that failed?

Often, yes — it depends on how the drive failed. Logical failures and corrupted file systems are frequently recoverable. Severe physical damage may need a specialist lab, and if that’s where you are, we will tell you honestly instead of experimenting with your only copy. The important part: stop using the drive immediately and call us. Continuing to run a failing drive is what turns recoverable data into lost data.

Do I have to sign a contract?

Not for a repair. Plenty of clients call us once, get fixed, and call again months later. Ongoing agreements are available for businesses that want monitoring and a predictable monthly bill, but nothing about getting your computer working requires one.

Got a Computer Down Right Now?

Tell us what it’s doing and we’ll tell you what it takes to fix it. Same business day response, Fort Myers and all of Southwest Florida, for small businesses.
