These are the terms for using henktek.com and hiring HenkTek for IT services. By using the site or signing up for our services, you agree to what’s below. Nothing too crazy, but it’s worth reading.
HenkTek is an IT services business based in Fort Myers, Florida. We provide managed IT, cybersecurity, networking, low voltage wiring, remote support, and related services to small and mid sized businesses in Southwest Florida.
The content on henktek.com is for general info. We try to keep it accurate and current but we can’t promise its perfect. Don’t rely on a blog post to make a big IT decision without talking to us first. Articles and recommendations may go stale as tech changes.
Don’t use the site to do anything illegal, don’t try to break it, and don’t scrape it for AI training. Reasonable stuff.
When we take on a project or managed services client, the specific work, pricing, and timeline goes in a written agreement separate from this page. That agreement controls what we owe each other on a specific job. If there’s ever a conflict between this page and your service agreement, the service agreement wins.
Quotes we send are good for 30 days unless we say otherwise. Prices can change if the scope changes or if hardware costs jump (which happens). We’ll always tell you before doing extra work that costs extra.
Payment terms are spelled out in your service agreement or invoice. Most projects are net 15 or net 30. Late payments may get a finance charge. If an invoice goes seriously overdue we may pause services until its sorted out.
We do our work carefully and stand behind it. That said, IT is messy and stuff can go wrong outside our control (vendor outages, manufacturer defects, third party software bugs, hurricanes). Our liability for any single issue is capped at the amount you paid us for the specific service that the issue relates to. We’re not on the hook for indirect damages like lost profits.
Recommendations on the blog and elsewhere are general guidance, not a contract to deliver a specific result for your business.
We resell and recommend products from Microsoft, Cisco, Ubiquiti, and other vendors. Those products come with their own manufacturer warranties and terms. We’re not the manufacturer and can’t promise more than they do.
Some links on the blog go to Amazon or other partners and we may earn a small commission if you buy through them. It doesn’t cost you extra and it doesn’t change what we recommend. We only link to gear we’d actually use.
Either side can end a service agreement following the notice period in that agreement. If you stop using the site, you don’t have to tell us, but the parts of these terms that should logically stick around after (like liability caps) still apply.
These terms are governed by Florida law. Any dispute gets handled in Lee County, Florida. If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when. Big changes will get a heads up. By continuing to use the site after a change, you’re agreeing to the new version.
