A secure remote session solves a large share of what goes wrong in an office — usually the same business day, and at $125 an hour it is our least expensive option. For businesses across Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres, Bonita Springs and Naples.
When something stops working, the instinct is to get a technician on site. Often that is exactly the wrong first move, because the drive is the slowest and most expensive part of the job and a great many problems have nothing to do with physical hardware at all. Software, settings, permissions, email, updates, printing, a program that has started misbehaving — all of that is diagnosed and usually fixed from wherever we happen to be.
The practical difference is speed. A remote session can start within minutes of a phone call instead of waiting for a slot in a driving schedule, which for a business with people sitting idle is the number that actually matters. It is also cheaper: remote work is $125 an hour with no first-hour premium, against $150 for the first hour of an on-site visit. Fewer businesses know that than you would expect.
We work with small businesses across Southwest Florida, so remote support here means your office systems — workstations, servers, email, line-of-business applications — rather than home machines.
Mail not sending or receiving, a mailbox that has stopped syncing, calendar sharing, a new address that needs setting up on a phone and a desktop, or an account behaving oddly after a password change.
A computer that has become painfully slow, programs that hang, or a machine that started acting differently after an update. Often the cause is software or a failing drive showing early signs — both identifiable remotely.
The printer that has vanished from everyone’s list, scan-to-email that stopped working, or a driver that broke after a Windows update. Tedious, extremely common, and almost always fixable remotely.
Someone who cannot reach a shared folder, a mapped drive that disappeared, or access that needs granting to a new hire and revoking from someone who left. The last one gets forgotten more often than it should — it is a real security issue.
Getting a new employee working: account, email, access to the right systems, printers, and the applications they actually need. Much less disruptive done remotely before their first morning than in person during it.
Pop-ups, hijacked browsers, and fake “tech support” warnings. Many infections can be cleaned in a remote session; if something is severe enough to need the machine in hand, we will say so rather than bill you for hopeful attempts.
Remote support has hard limits and pretending otherwise wastes your money. If a machine will not power on or will not boot, there is nothing to connect to. Physical failures — a dead power supply, a cracked laptop screen, a failed drive that needs replacing, a keyboard that has had coffee in it — need hands. Anything involving cabling, switches, access point placement or a server that has gone dark after a storm is on-site work by definition.
There is also a category where remote is possible but unwise: recovering data from a drive that is physically failing. Every additional hour a dying drive spends running can turn recoverable data into lost data, so the right move is to stop and get it looked at properly rather than attempt it over a connection. That is repair and recovery work.
When we start remotely and discover the problem is physical, we tell you immediately and you are not charged twice for the same diagnosis.
Phone (239) 234-2334 and tell us what the machine is doing. We respond the same business day and will tell you whether remote is the right approach.
You start the connection at your end and approve it. Nobody gets access to a machine without somebody there choosing to grant it, and you can watch everything that happens on screen throughout.
Usually while you watch, and we will explain what went wrong in plain English rather than leaving you none the wiser. If it turns out to need on-site work, you hear that straight away.
Access closes when the work is done. There is no standing open door into your network afterwards unless you are a managed client with monitoring you have specifically agreed to.
Grab the support tool here. Small download, you run it once and approve the connection before we can see anything. It does not stay installed afterwards.
$125 an hour with a one-hour minimum. There is no first-hour premium and no travel charge, which makes it cheaper than the $150 first hour of an on-site visit. Full details on our rates page.
During a session we see the screen of the machine you have connected, the same as sitting at it. You start and approve the connection, you can watch the whole thing, and access ends when the session ends. If confidentiality is a particular concern — a practice with patient records, say — tell us and we will work around what you would rather we not have open.
A small connection tool is used to start the session, and we walk you through it on the phone the first time. It takes a couple of minutes and does not require you to be technical.
We tell you as soon as we know and move to on-site or bench work instead. You are not charged twice for diagnosing the same problem.
Yes, both, along with the servers and business applications behind them.
Yes, treated as an emergency call at $175 an hour with a two-hour minimum. For a business that has to open in the morning, that is often the sensible trade.
